Q: What has been your greatest success as a musician?
A: In a previous band I released a full-length album and opened for a platinum artist in front of a few thousand people, so I would have to say that’s been the high point so far. However, what’s to come with my solo project will no doubt in my mind be my next greatest success. I think it’s all about how you define ‘success’ that makes you the artist that you are. You only get better so defining your expectations is key. So to possibly start this question over; my greatest success is a good reaction. If I can make just one person feel what I feel when I listen to the music that touches me, I’m successful.
Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?
A: Yes. Define your expectations and what ‘success’ means to you. It will give you a much better outlook on the scope of things. Also, do what makes you great and stick with it. There have been many times where I’ve been so deep in a project that I started to second guess myself. Keep pushing. Keep an eye on the prize and do what makes you you because that’s what people will love you for.
